Raising My Flag

Ma Laoshi in Mongolia

I am Ma Laoshi, a teacher at DMLIS. Since I arrived here 4 years ago, much has changed, including me. Our little international school is now growing up and out and all over the place. A lot is happening – daily. Issues abound and so do opinions. Within these walls you will encounter my musings and meanderings.

These are some of the questions I ask myself.

Is development a good thing?
Why does everything have to keep getting bigger?
Is it foolish to choose a difficult path if an easier one exists?
Is hope always a good thing?

  3. sometimes hope leads us to work hard on the unpredictable things. hope is a good thing at that time. but sometimes hope will let people go to a wrong way. think everthing before doing it, this is an important way to live.

  8. Not all the things is unchanges.People in different place has different opinion about the develope .I think most of time ,it is good for a country,or a city, even a school.Positive change always brings a lot of benifit .Just like Dalian Mapleleaf International School .So far ,our school develope more beautiful ,as a student ,I feel very happy to see that .Because our school becomes more beautiful and have more services for the student .That’s important for our daily life. Also ,I always support the things needs develop,if China does’t change ,that ’s terrible to think that what’s China looks like now.The more development ,the more benifit for China ,that can help China to be wealth and powerfull.
In the other hand ,i don’t think hopes are always good think ,if someone has the hope contains a lot of hateful and negetive element ,that is not good thing .Opposite ,it will has the pesstimistic in people’s mind ,therefore some people go to the jail!

  9. I don’t think develop is always a good thing. Like the countires, for many times the more develop the country is, the worse envirnment the country is. But for maple leaf school, it’s really growing up very fast. and the envirnment is pretty good. and I hope the future of Maple Leaf school will be more beautiful~~!

  10. Maple leaf school keeps changing all the time. Several buildings were built some days ago. For this reason, it makes the room for playing become smaller and smaller. It makes me hard to say development is good or not.

  11. There would be positive effect and negative effect when something changes or happend. Nobody like the war, but if no war, there would be no developement and no modern society. So the hope and development can be good thing and bad thing at one time from different piont of view.
